Dhanbad, April 19: Chairman of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) S Suresh Kumar (IAS) said that DVC is ready to provide quality power generation and distribution and solve the country’s consumers’ problems.
While interacting for the first time with DVC consumers at Bokaro Steel City on Friday, Kumar said that DVC is trying to take appropriate action on the advice of the consumers. “DVC is making every effort to produce good power and work in the interest of the society and the nation. There is scope for expansion of power generation and carrying out social work in its command area,” he said.
DVC promises 24-hour power
Member Technical M Raghuram said that DVC is trying to provide consumers with 24-hour electricity. “For this, we need the people’s cooperation. DVC currently has an adequate quantity of coal and is playing a leading role in power generation and distribution in the country,” he said.
John Mathai, the Member Secretary, said that DVC is supplying electricity in the country and abroad. “Since the independence of India, DVC has played an important role in the progress of the country and society.” He said that DVC has been moving forward for the progress of the society including power generation as well as education and health. “We all need to work together for the progress of the country,” he added.

Working culture of DVC
Member Finance Arup Sarkar shed detailed light on the working culture of DVC and said that the upliftment of DVC is linked to the upliftment of society as well as the country. “DVC is capable of making the country and society prosperous economically and socially,” he added.
Executive Director of Finance Sanjeev Srivastava addressed the audience and shed light on DVC’s working system and urged the consumers to complement each other. Executive Directors Dinesh Kumar Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Anjani Dabe, Subhash Singh, Manoj Kumar Thakur, Avijit Ghosh, and Rajeev Ranjan Singha were present at the function. Sarvjeet Singh and Arvind Kumar conducted the function.
On occasion, Chairman S. Suresh Kumar honoured the representatives of Kolkata Carbide, Maihar Alloys, Sundaram Steel Pvt. Ltd., and Siyaji Industries with mementoes as the Best Electricity Consumers.
