Jharkhand News: ECRKU opposes Andman’s tour of staff till basic problems solved

Dhanbad, May 7:  The East Central Railway Karmchari Union (ECRKU) has asked the management of Dhanbad Rail Division to cancel the Andaman tour programme of employees till their pending basic problems are resolved.

Rattled by the apathetic attitude of railway management in addressing perennial problems of employees, ECRKU additional general secretary Dhanbad Rail Division PNM in-charge Md Ziauddin on Tuesday after a Zoom meeting shot off a memorandum to the management saying that at a time while employees are gasping for drinking water like basic facility, management is organizing Andaman tour programme has upset the employees.

The Rail administration has sought applications from interested employees for the Andaman tour programme under the welfare fund.

“At an emergent meeting of the ECRKU Divisional Committee held today through Zoom it was unanimously decided that the tour programme should not be organized until all demands of employees are implemented.

The ECRKU has conveyed this in writing to the divisional railway manager (DRM). Unfortunately, the tour programme is being organized without resolving the issues,” said Md Ziauddin.

The ECRKU leader alleged that employees have put their lives at stake to take  Dhanbad Rail Division to new heights but in return section officers are exploiting them and have held up their due payment. If the complaint is lodged at a higher level, lower-grade employees are transferred as punishment, he added.

ECRKU  media in-charge NK Khawas said that besides  Md Ziauddin at the Divisional Committee meeting, assistant general secretary Om Prakash, Central Committee organizing secretary  Somen Dutta, Netajee Subhash, AIRF  zonal secretary  OP Sharma,  Chopan -1 secretary  Umesh Singh, Chopan branch-2 secretary  CP Pandey, Daltanganj secretary Sunil Kumar Singh, Patratu branch- secretary  RN Choudhary Patratu  branch-2 secretary Ajit Kumar, , Barkakana secretary   Mahendra Prasad Mahto, Chandrapura secretary Chandan Shukla, Gomoh secretary PK Sinha, Gujandi Koderma secretary BB Singh Dhanbad branch-1 secretary BK Dubey, Dhanbad branch-2 secretary RK Singh , Dhanbad Line secretary JK Saw, Katras secretary IM Singh, Pathardih secretary BK Saw were also present at the zoom meeting.
