PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Nov 6: A 70-year-old woman, Soma Sarkar of Subhash Colony, Mango under Ulidih police station area, died early on Thursday after a rampaging bull violently attacked her during her morning walk.

Soma Sarkar was out for her daily stroll with her husband, Kushal Sarkar, when the uncontrollable bull suddenly charged at her.

The attack was so forceful that she died on the spot. “I have never witnessed such a terrifying and powerful assault by a bull in my entire life,” her husband said, mourning the sudden loss of his wife.

Former BJP leader Vikas Singh visited the grieving family and alleged that Soma’s death was the tragic outcome of misleading and false reports circulated by certain leaders and municipal officials claiming that the dangerous bull had already been captured.

He said these “baseless and cheap publicity-driven claims” created a false sense of safety among residents. Trusting the inaccurate reports, locals resumed their routine activities without caution.

Soma too stepped out for her usual morning walk, unaware that the bull was still roaming free. It was during this time that the animal attacked her fatally.

Singh strongly criticised those responsible for spreading the false information, stating that their irresponsibility had cost an innocent woman her life.

The tragic incident has triggered shock and anger in the locality, with residents demanding accountability and firm action from the civic authorities to prevent such incidents in the future.
