Jamshedpur, June 21: For 60-year-old Saroj Devi the International Yoga Day was not at all a lucky day.
A resident of Jugsalai, Saroj Devi was run over by a speeding train while crossing tracks near the closed level-crossing in Jugsalai on the way back home having attended a yoga program somewhere in Bistupur on Friday morning.
The elderly woman who had a hearing problem got down from an autorickshaw near the Jugsalai level crossing and started walking towards Jugsalai by negotiating the railway track.
In the middle of the track, one of her sandals got trapped in the track, causing her to fall down. On the spur of the moment, she saw a speeding train coming towards her. But by the time she wanted to get on her feet in the face of imminent danger, it was too late.

The woman was run over by the Asansol-Tata memu and was cut into pieces.
The mishap victim was the mother of businessman Rajkumar Mittal, thus making the traders circle in Jugsalai to plunge into shock as the news of her demise spread across the Jugsalai.
The level-crossing was closed after a railway overbridge came into being two years ago. But in the absence of a foot overbridge, scores of pedestrians have to cross the railway track risking their lives. In the event of using the railway overbridge to reach Jugsalai, the pedestrians have to walk an additional 900 metres which they think is not at all practical.
