Dr. R.K. Ranjan of MMCH identified the candidate as Riya Ghosh, a resident of Purulia, West Bengal.

Demonstrating resilience, Riya expressed her desire to rejoin the recruitment process upon regaining consciousness. The hospital advised her to rest for a few more hours before continuing her participation in the competitive test.

Dr. Ranjan noted that Riya’s case is the first involving a female candidate since the recruitment drive began on August 27. Until now, only male candidates have been admitted to MMCH from the recruitment site at the Chiyanki airstrip.

In the ongoing tests, female candidates are required to complete a 5km run within 40 minutes. Meanwhile, concerns have arisen regarding male candidates potentially using anabolic steroids to enhance their performance. Some social media platforms have circulated news about male candidates allegedly using “nashili dawa” (intoxicating drugs).

Responding to this, a candidate pointed out that narcotics would impair performance rather than enhance it, emphasizing that no one would be foolish enough to use such substances during the tests.
