Jamshedpur, Dec 28: A sudden fire broke out in a scrap yard located on Road No. 6 in the Baghbera police station area last night at around 9.30 pm.
The flames were so bright that they could be seen from far and wide. According to local people, this fire may have been deliberately set by anti-social elements.
Owner suffers heavy loss
Scrap shop owner Raju Sharma said that he had closed the shop in the evening and gone home. At around 9.30 pm he received information that his shop was on fire.
By the time they reached the spot, the fire had engulfed the entire scrap yard.
The loss was estimated to be over Rs 5 lakh in the fire mishap.

Fear of arson due to dispute
Local sources say that Raju Sharma was illegally building a house on the land of the Baghbera Housing Board near the scrap yard. There has been controversy regarding this before also. It is believed that this arson could be the result of this dispute.
Fire Brigade and Police readiness
As soon as the information of the fire was received, the fire brigade team reached the spot. The police have also reached the spot and started investigating the matter. Investigation was on to find out the cause of the fire.
