Dhanbad, Dec 24: Dhanbad police on Wednesday arrested four cyber fraudsters from Giridih district who were allegedly operating from a roadside guest house under the Govindpur police station area along National Highway-2.

City Superintendent of Police Ritvik Srivastava said the arrests were made following a tip-off, after which a special police team conducted a raid at Maa Shanti Guest House at around 1.30 am. Four suspects were detained from a room during the operation.

Police recovered eight mobile phones from the accused. Preliminary examination of chats and data stored in the devices revealed links to multiple cyber fraud cases registered in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. Each of the accused was found carrying two mobile phones.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ranjit Yadav, Pawan Kumar Mandal, Rahul Kumar Mandal and Vipin Kumar Paswan, all residents of Giridih district.
During the raid, police also seized a Ford EcoSport car parked outside the guest house and recovered five additional mobile phones linked to cyber fraud activities. Further investigation into the racket is currently underway.
