Jamshedpur, July 26: A tragic incident occurred near the Dalaikela culvert under Daraikela Panchayat of Kharsawan block in neighbouring Seraikela-Kharsawan district, where four youths drowned while bathing in the river.

The deceased have been identified as Sunil Sahu, Manoj Sahu, Haribas Das, and Sidesh Mandal.

According to local sources, villagers immediately rushed to rescue the youths and, with the help of police, managed to pull them out of the water.

They were taken to Kharsawan Durgamani Nursing Home, where doctors, after initial treatment, declared all four dead.

The police have conducted an inquest and sent the bodies to Seraikela Sadar Hospital for postmortem.

The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom over Kharsawan, with shock and grief prevailing among the local residents.
