Jamshedpur, April 27: In a nail-biting final match, Gabru-Mango emerged victorious against Super Kings-Tinplate to claim the Cricket League for Sikhs (CLS) title. Heera’s stellar performance earned him the title of best batsman, while Tajinder showcased his bowling prowess, earning him the best bowler award. Karan’s outstanding contributions throughout the series earned him the prestigious title of Man of the Series.
Gabru-Mango set a challenging target of 130 runs in the final match, with Hira leading the charge with an impressive knock of 44 runs. Despite a valiant effort by Super Kings-Tinplate, they fell short by five runs, scoring 126 runs in their allotted overs. Karan stood out with a notable 45-run innings for Super Kings-Tinplate.
The match was graced by Amarpreet Singh Kale, who highlighted the resilience of the Sikh community in enjoying the game amidst the scorching summer heat. He emphasized the importance of sports in fostering unity and congratulated the organizing committee for their efforts.
Sardar Shailendra Singh, President of the Jharkhand State Gurudwara Committee and CGPC Chairman, encouraged the players and stressed the positive impact of sports on youth. Several dignitaries and guests attended the event and lauded the initiative and expressed their enjoyment of the game.
The CLS final concluded with both the winning and runner-up teams receiving trophies and cash prizes, while individual players were honoured with trophies. The successful event marked the beginning of more sports initiatives under the banner of CGPC, promising a bright future for Sikh sports enthusiasts.
