Daltonganj, March 29: Garhwa DC Shekhar Jamuar and SP Deepak Pandey took stock of the interstate check posts ahead of the Lok Sabha election. Voting is due on May 13.
Check posts at Jharkhand, UP-Bihar border
They inspected interstate check posts lying with UP and Bihar.
SP Deepak Pandey told this correspondent late Thursday night, “We saw our two interstate check posts with UP. It is Bilaspur and Khakha. Here, we found things going the right way.”
DC Shekhar Jamuar said, “We inspected the interstate check post also with Bihar at Sri Nagar. It opens a vista to Bihar’s Kaimur. Kaimur hills are there.”
Sources said the two heads of Garhwa visiting the interstate checkpoints is a shot in the arm for the jawans and officials at the checkpoints.

Our team is alert and vigilant: SP
When asked if, apart from seizing illicit liquor, any consignment of freebies like cigarettes, mini water coolers, fashionable slippers, etc., had been intercepted, the SP said, “Not so far. Our team is alert and vigilant. It is on the lookout for precious metals like gold and silver, huge unaccounted cash, illicit liquor, illicit arms and drugs, etc.”
DC Shekhar Jamuar said, “We are making precise and meticulous preparations for the polls. We are trying to ensure that no issue of any sort arises.”
Electoral literacy clubs
When asked what Garhwa, with only two assembly constituencies, is doing under the SVEEP to increase its voting percentage, DC Shekhar Jamuar said, “We have a fleet of campus ambassadors. There are electoral literacy clubs. Chunao Pathshalas are on. People are being made aware of their right to vote. We are determined to hold free and fair polling.”
