Jamshedpur, August 23: The Public Health Centre (PHC) Ghorabandha, run under a public-private partnership with Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC), has been honored with the prestigious Kayakalp Award for the year 2024-25.

The award, instituted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India, is presented after evaluation and recommendation by the NHSRC to recognize health institutions for promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control.

As part of the recognition, PHC Ghorabandha will receive a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh, which will serve both as an incentive for the staff and to support further developmental work at the centre.

The PHC also functions as a Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC).

Manipal Tata Medical College, Jamshedpur, is a constituent institution of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence (IoE).

It is a joint venture between MAHE and Tata Steel Limited (TSL), committed to providing world-class medical education and healthcare services.

Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a team of dedicated faculty members, MTMC is devoted to training future healthcare professionals and contributing to the well-being of society.
