Jamshedpur, July 24: In a major crackdown, the Excise Department and local police unearthed an illegal liquor racket being operated under the guise of a ration shop in Dahubeda village under Nimdih police station area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
Acting on a tip-off, the joint raid was conducted on July 23, under the directive of the Seraikela-Kharsawan Superintendent of Police.
The team raided the ration shop owned by one Amrendra Singh Sardar in Tola Bankati, Dahubeda, and seized a large stock of illegal liquor.

The seized consignment included:
* 18 bottles of Kingfisher Strong Beer (650 ml each)
* 70 bottles of ‘Dil Se’ brand liquor (600 ml each)
* 6 bottles of Kings Gold (750 ml each)
Shockingly, the seized bottles were marked “For Sale in West Bengal Only” and “For Sale in Arunachal Pradesh Only,” indicating illegal transportation and sale in Jharkhand, which is a punishable offence under Section 47(a) of the Jharkhand Excise Act and Sections 274/275 of the Indian Justice Code, 2023.
A case has been registered at Nimdih Police Station, and the shop owner, Amrendra Singh Sardar (34), son of late Sufal Singh Sardar, has been arrested on the spot.
The seized liquor has been sealed and taken into police custody.

Police have launched a detailed investigation to uncover the supply chain and identify others involved in the smuggling operation.
The Nimdih police station in-charge confirmed that stringent actions will continue against illegal liquor networks operating in the region.
