PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Sept 24: Anticipating massive festive footfall, the East Singhbhum district administration and police have chalked out an elaborate traffic management plan to keep Jamshedpur’s roads free of gridlock during Durga Puja.

The strategy includes one-way traffic corridors, diversions, and 28 designated parking hubs spread across key neighbourhoods.

Streamlined Traffic Routes

* Vehicles from Mango to Sakchi will move via the old MGM Hospital stretch, while the old court road will function two-way.

* Agrico-bound traffic to Sakchi will be rerouted through Kumharpara and Apex Hospital Road.

*Tatanagar-bound traffic from Burmamines will take the BPM High School–TRF route, while station-bound vehicles from Sakchi will use the old police station road.

*The Kitadih–LBSM College Road stretch, the Sadar Hospital Road, and Sonari–Kagalnagar route have all been made one-way.

28 Parking Zones

To prevent roadside chaos, 28 parking areas have been identified around pandals and busy zones—including Sonari-Kagalnagar, CH Area, Kadma Ganesh Path, Bistupur, Jubilee Park, Ambagan, Sakchi, Burmamines, and Telco.

Extra Measures for Smooth Flow

Slider gates, drop gates, and additional police deployment will ensure crowd control.

CCTV surveillance has been enhanced in Sakchi, Bistupur, and Jubilee Park, while plain-clothes officers will monitor high-density spots.

Officials have assured that the integrated traffic chart will keep devotees and pandal-hoppers free from inconvenience, allowing them to enjoy the city’s vibrant Durga Puja festivities without disruption.
