Jamshedpur, Sept 18: Police have cracked the case of the daring daylight robbery at Vardhman Jewellers at Sonari in Jamshedpur on September 3.

Acting swiftly, a special police team arrested three members of an inter-state criminal gang and recovered a country-made pistol, a magazine, two live cartridges, a car used in the robbery, two motorcycles, and five mobile phones.

Those arrested were identified as Vishnu Shankar Rai (28), a resident of Nawada district in Bihar and Saurabh Mehta (22) and Suraj Kumar (23), both residents of Palamu district.

City SP Kumar Shivashish, addressing a press conference, said the breakthrough came after a thorough investigation based on CCTV footage, technical surveillance, and confidential inputs.

Police are conducting raids to nab them. The seized arms and vehicles have been sent for forensic examination to establish their role in the robbery.
