Jamshedpur, April 23: With the dates of board exam results inching closer a wave of anxiety and emotional turmoil is gripping students and parents alike. Recognizing the growing psychological pressure during this crucial period, ‘Jeevan’ Suicide Prevention Centre, a well-known suicide prevention centre in Jamshedpur, has stepped forward with an empathetic and timely initiative aimed at promoting self-confidence and emotional resilience among students and their families.

Understanding the intense stress and fear of failure that often accompanies board exam results, Jeevan has reached out to ICSE and CBSE students with a powerful message: “Exam results are not a judgment of your worth, but a stepping stone to new opportunities.”

Trained volunteers associated with the center have been actively encouraging students to view results as one chapter in the broader journey of life, and not as a defining moment.

The organization is also engaging with parents, urging them to avoid comparison and instead focus on understanding and emotionally supporting their children. “At this time, children don’t need pressure, they need presence,” a senior volunteer said.
Jeevan’s volunteers have been highlighting the importance of self-acceptance, exploring alternative career paths, and recognizing that setbacks are not failures but part of growth.
“Our mission is to prevent young lives from taking drastic steps due to academic pressure,” said a Jeevan volunteer. “We want students to know that suicide is never the answer. Talking, sharing, and seeking help can bring clarity and solutions. Every student deserves support, not judgment.”
