Ranchi, August 30: Senior leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and MLA from Ghatshila, Ramdas Soren, was sworn in today as the 12th minister of Jharkhand at Raj Bhavan. Governor Santosh Gangwar administered the oath of office and secrecy to him.
Ramdas Soren has been appointed as a minister in the Jharkhand government in place of Champai Soren. He has been assigned the same departments that were previously under Champai Soren’s charge.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Satyanand Bhogta, Rameshwar Oraon, along with several other prominent leaders of the ruling party.

Ramdas Soren has been elected twice as the MLA from Ghatshila and is being included in the cabinet for the first time.
The ministerial position in the Hemant government became vacant after former minister Champai Soren resigned on Wednesday. In response, JMM proposed MLA Ramdas Soren as the new minister and sent the recommendation to Raj Bhavan. Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar accepted the proposal and scheduled the swearing-in ceremony for 10:30 AM today.
