Dhanbad, Sept 30: A team of judges led by Principal District and Sessions Judge Ram Sharma conducted a surprise inspection of the Dhanbad Jail and instructed authorities to promptly transfer sick prisoners to a higher health centre for treatment.

Following directives from the Jharkhand Legal Services Authorities (JHALSA), the team visited each barrack in the jail, met with every inmate, and gathered feedback on their medical treatment, quality of meals, and access to legal services.

The judges emphasised the need for the jail doctor to prioritize the transfer of ill prisoners for medical care and to focus on maintaining sanitation within the facility.
