Jamshedpur, August 27: A grand celebration of World Commerce Day was organized at Karim City College, Sakchi, with a program hosted by the Faculty of Commerce.

The event, themed “Commerce for Tomorrow: Nurturing Talent, Innovation, and Societal Impact,” brought together students and faculty to reflect on the future of commerce and its role in building a sustainable society.

The celebration was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. B.K. Singh, Finance Officer of Kolhan University, Chaibasa, as Chief Guest, and Sri Nandan Kumar, Branch Manager of NML, Jamshedpur, as Guest of Honour.

The program commenced with a welcome address by Principal Dr. Mohammad Reyaz, who underlined the importance of commerce education in today’s rapidly changing world.

This was followed by remarks from Dr. Md. Moazzam Nazri, Head of the Commerce Department, who introduced the theme and emphasized the integration of talent development, innovation, and social responsibility into the study of commerce.

More than a hundred students from Science, Arts, Commerce, BBA, BCA, IT, and Mass Communication streams participated with great enthusiasm.

The celebration featured a series of engaging events, including:

Cultural Program – captivating dance and song performances by students. Startup India – innovative business ideas showcased through PowerPoint presentations.

Case Study on CSR – analyses of real-world scenarios highlighting corporate social responsibility.

Debate on Artificial Intelligence: Boon or Bane – a lively exchange of ideas on AI’s impact on commerce and society.

Quiz Competition – testing knowledge of commerce and current affairs.

The success of the event reflected the efforts of the Commerce faculty, including Dr. G. Vijaylakshmi, Dr. Syed Zahid Perwaiz, Dr. Rashmi Akhtar, Dr. Aftab Alam, Dr. Fouzia Tabassum, Dr. SK Anwar Ali, and Prof. Rashid Iqbal.

The program was smoothly anchored by students Uzma and Ashish, while Shahid Raza delivered the vote of thanks.
