Jamshedpur, May 27: IAS officer Karn Satyarthi officially took charge on Tuesday as the 25th Deputy Commissioner (DC) of East Singhbhum, marking a new chapter in the district’s administrative leadership.

The ceremonial handover took place at the District Collectorate, where outgoing Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal formally passed on the responsibilities.

The occasion witnessed the presence of several senior officials, including the Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC), ITDA Project Director, Dhalbhum SDO, Additional Deputy Commissioner, department staff, and members of the press.

Previously serving as the DC of Gumla, Satyarthi brings with him a wealth of administrative experience. Upon assuming office, he articulated a clear vision centred on transparent governance, effective execution of public welfare schemes, and accelerating developmental initiatives across the district.
Ananya Mittal Bids Farewell with Gratitude
In his farewell address, Ananya Mittal extended heartfelt thanks to his colleagues and the citizens of East Singhbhum for their unwavering support throughout his tenure.

He acknowledged the collective efforts of the administration, the public, and the media during the smooth conduct of the recent Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections.
Mittal conveyed his best wishes to Satyarthi, expressing confidence in his ability to drive the district towards inclusive and sustainable growth.

He also stressed the need for responsive public grievance mechanisms and collaborative efforts to enhance development outcomes. With a focus on participatory administration, Satyarthi aims to steer East Singhbhum toward holistic and equitable progress.
