Daltonganj, July 11: Two brothers, Arjun, 8 and Deva, 10, died of snake bite in Palamu. The incident occurred at Pathra village under the Chainpur police station limits on the intervening night of Thursday/Friday.
These two brothers were sleeping together with their father, Prem Kumar Chourasia, on a cot with a mosquito net.
Prem Kumar Chourasia was also bitten by the snake. He is responding to the treatment in a private mission hospital at Tumbagara on NH 39.

The deceased children were the kin of the Daltonganj BJP MLA Alok Chourasia.
Post-mortem of the two children was performed in the MMCH.
Under the Disaster Management Act, 4 lakhs of rupees each as ex gratia relief will be given to Prem Kumar Chourasia for the losses of Arjun and Deva.
The tragedy has shocked the people of Palamu.
