Jamshedpur, Nov 21: The grounds of Loyola School came alive with energy and excitement as the institution celebrated its 74th Annual Sports Day for the junior section. Themed “To Infinity and Beyond” as a tribute to ISRO scientists, the event aimed to ignite awareness and enthusiasm about space exploration among the students.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Padma Shri and Dronacharya Awardee Purnima Mahato, who was joined by dignitaries including Rector Father K. M. Joseph, Principal Father Vinod Fernandes, and Vice Principal (Junior Section) Vineeta F. Ekka. Parents and alumni also graced the vibrant event.
The celebration began with the unfurling of the Sports Day flag, the lighting of the Sports Flame, the release of balloons, and the taking of the Sports Oath, officially inaugurating the meet. JULO, the spirited mascot embodying the true Loyola spirit, set the tone with its presence.

Students captivated the audience with mesmerizing drill performances. Nursery and LKG students charmed as stars and comets, while UKG and Class 1 students amazed as rockets soaring into the sky. Class 2 and 3 students delighted spectators as playful aliens in Return of the Aliens. Classes 4 and 5 showcased Moonwalk Madness with a tribute to Michael Jackson, depicting his iconic dance moves on the lunar surface.
The day featured 64 events, including races, relays, and skill-based activities, involving students from Nursery to Class 5, along with teachers and staff. Triumphs were met with cheers, and champions were honoured with medals and trophies for their perseverance and dedication.
Special awards included: Best Athlete Awards: Class 3: Sai Sampath Sahoo (Boys), Aavya Sinha (Girls) , Class 4: Saharsh Prateek Ekka (Boys), Shanvi Mishra (Girls), Class 5: Prince Murmu (Boys), Prarthana Hassa (Girls). House Winners: Runner-Up: Jaguar House and Champion: Leopard House

The event concluded with the lowering of the flag by the games teachers, which was handed over to Vice Principal Vineeta Ekka. Principal Father Vinod Fernandes delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, appreciating the spirited participation of students and the tireless efforts of the teachers and staff.
