Jamshedpur, June 18: In a shocking incident, a 42-year-old man was beaten to death by his elder brother under Kapali thana Outpost under Chandil thana area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan on Tuesday.

Identified as Mohammed Amzad, murder victim did the only fault that he had plucked a jackfruit from his elder brother Mohammed Ahmed’s tree without the latter’s permission.

Victim repeatedly hit by iron pipe on head

The incident took place near the assailant’s house near Rahmatullah mosque in densely-populated Kapali on Tuesday morning,

According to police, the murder victim Amzad who was father of four children had dispute with his elder brother over a plot of land since the past two years.  With the festivity of Bakrid still on in Kapali like in any other Muslims-dominated pockets Amzad had gone over to his elder brother’s house and plucked the jackfruit willfully.

As Ahmed could know about the act of his brother, he picked up an iron pipe and attacked the victim. Ahmed continued to hit Amzad with the iron pipe until the latter did not turn motionless.

As a result of the assault, Amzad’s head got ruptured causing the grey material to come out of it. He died instantly on the spot.

Accused absconding

Having killed his younger brother, Ahmed fled the scene.

The police reached the spot and raided Ahmed’s house for the arrest, but he was nowhere to be found as he has absconded. The police are trying to arrest the assailant by conducting random raids in search of Ahmed.
