Jamshedpur, Sept 23: Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC) has successfully completed ERUDITE: National Conference for Undergraduate Medical Students, a two-day event held from September 21 to 22, 2024, at the MTMC premises. This conference was part of the celebration of 2024 as the MAHE Year of Research Excellence in the region.

ERUDITE marked a significant step in advancing medical research, organized by the Student Research Forum under the auspices of the UG Research Vertical. The event was executed with notable contributions from students, guided by the Dean of MTMC, the Director of MTMC, and the Head of Research at MTMC.

Guests share insights on medical research

The conference featured guests, including Chief Guest Dr. Sachidananda Mohanty, Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Awantipora, Guest of Honour Dr. Tanuj Kanchan, Dean of Research at AIIMS Jodhpur, and Keynote Speaker Dr. Partha Dabke, Medical Science Liaison in Neurosurgery and Metabolic Disorders.

In his address, Dr. Mohanty emphasized the critical role of medical research in advancing healthcare practices. Dr. Tanuj highlighted the importance of research publications and conferences for the career development of healthcare professionals. Dr. Dabke discussed the various prospects and avenues in medical research, stressing the significance of collaborative efforts. Additionally, a guest lecture by Dr. Daivik T. Shetty focused on effective strategies to enhance learning.

The conference also included a special segment for local educational engagement, welcoming students from five different high schools in Jamshedpur, along with 12 accompanying teachers who were recognized for their role in inspiring curiosity and passion for science among young minds.

Participation of 360 delegates in six workshops

With approximately 360 delegates participating, including 80 nursing students from seven different states, ERUDITE facilitated six workshops led by prominent faculty from Tata Main Hospital and MTMC.

These workshops covered essential topics such as Trauma Management, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Critical Care, ECG Interpretation, Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) Analysis, and Anatomy.

Scientific presentations and award-winning participants

The conference featured a variety of events, including Scientific Paper Presentations, Scientific Poster Presentations, Clinical Case Presentations, quizzes, and an Ideathon.

Noteworthy participants were recognized with awards, including certificates and cash vouchers. Among the winners were Dhote Kashmira Kusumkant, MTMC; Winnie Koshy Binoj, AIIMS Deogarh; and Prathmesh Uddhavrao Karad, MIMSR Maharashtra, alongside several other outstanding students from MTMC.

The successful completion of ERUDITE 2024 represents a significant milestone for Manipal Tata Medical College, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in medical education and research.
