Bokaro, Sept 21: Mithila Sanskritik Parishad organised a cultural and literary program at Vidyapati Auditorium, Mithila Academy Public School, Sector 4E, to commemorate Sahitya Akademi award-winning writer Dr Brajkishore Verma ‘Manipadma’.

Tributes to Manipadma
Chief guest Rajendra Kumar, president of Mithila Academy Public School, spoke on Manipadma’s novel Naika Banijara and highlighted his deep concern for social issues. He also noted that since 1990, the Parishad has been observing Manipadma’s birth anniversary with literary events.
Other speakers, including Jay Prakash Chaudhary, Neeraj Chaudhary, Arun Pathak, Mihir Mohan Thakur, and Batohi Kumar, paid rich tributes.

Buddhinath Jha, creator of the Maithili epic Om Mahabharat, described Manipadma as a versatile litterateur. Senior writer Vijay Shankar Mallik honoured him with a poem, while poetess Shailaja Jha called him a “Dhruvtara” (Pole Star) for future generations.
Poets’ Conference
The second session featured a Maithili poets’ conference.
- Buddhinath Jha moved the audience with his heartfelt poems and songs.
- Rajiv Kanth recited “Sabh San Paigh Kaj”.
- Neelam Jha presented “E Dhara Ke Shan Mithila”.
- Vinay Darihare recited Manipadma’s poem.
- Shailaja Jha shared “Upekshit Swarak Pukar” and “Pratiksha”.
- Arun Pathak delivered “Biharak Gaurav Gatha – Jati Dharm Ke Nam Par Nahi Bantu Insan Ke…”
Vijay Shankar Mallik and Buddhinath Jha also earned appreciation for their performances.
Presence of Noted Personalities
The event, hosted by Shambhu Jha, concluded with a vote of thanks by Arun Pathak. Among those present were Poonam Mishra, Avinash Avi, Mihir Jha Raju, Sudip Kumar Thakur, Govind Kumar Jha, Aman Kumar Jha, Dr. Ram Narayan Singh, A. K.
