Jharkhand News: Mock drill carried out in Jamshedpur ahead of PM Modi’s visit

Jamshedpur, Sept 14: Special Protection Group (SPG) today carried out a mock drill in the steel city reviewing the security in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit tomorrow.

A team of SPG began the security drill from the Sonari Airport to Gopal Maidan in Bistupur.

Later a similar drill was carried out between Bistupur and Tatanagar railway station.

Ashwini Vaishnaw and Bidyut Mahto to accompany PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fly from Ranchi and is expected to reach the Sonari Airport at around 10 am from where he will drive to the Tatanagar railway station where he will flag off six Vande Bharat Express trains.

He will be accompanied by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Railway Board chairman Satish Kumar, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and others.

Soon after the flagging off ceremony, the Prime Minister would address an august gathering at the railway station premises.

PM to launch rural development schemes

Later, the Prime Minister is expected to launch various rural development schemes

He would also launch the allocation of 2 crore new homes under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Around 20,000 beneficiaries would receive approval letters.

PM’s roadshow and addressing of party meeting scheduled

The Prime Minister would later participate in a road show on the Bistupur Main Road between Voltas Building and Gopal Maidan Chowk.

The Prime Minister would also address a party meeting at the Gopal Maidan before leaving for Ranchi in a special chopper from the Sonari Airport.

The Prime Minister is expected to stay in Jamshedpur for about three hours from 10 am to 1 pm.

Barricading, roads closed and No Entry

Meanwhile, preparations in full-swing were carried out at the Tatanagar railway station and in the Bistupur and Station areas for the last few days in view of the Prime Minister’s visit.

Roads were repaired and walls were decked up.

Barricading has been done in Station Road and Bistupur Main Road where the PM’s roadshow will take place.

All roads between Sonari Airport, Bistupur and Tatanagar railway station will be closed from 8 am tomorrow.

No Entry regulations for heavy vehicles will remain effective between 6 am and 11 pm tomorrow.

District administrative officials said that parking arrangements have been made at various places for VVIPs and other guests.
