Jamshedpur, Aug 23: A tragic incident occurred late on Friday night in Andu village under Rajnagar police station area of adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district, where a house collapsed due to heavy rainfall.
The house belonged to a single family, and 10 members were trapped under the debris.
According to reports, a mother and her son lost their lives in the incident, while several others sustained serious injuries.

Locals rushed to the spot and, with the help of the police and administration, managed to rescue the trapped family members. The injured were immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment.
Villagers said that due to continuous rainfall over the past few days, the house walls had weakened, eventually leading to the collapse.
Rescue operations were carried out amid difficult conditions, as heavy rain and darkness hampered relief efforts.

The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the entire village, with relatives and neighbours mourning the untimely deaths.
Authorities have assured that compensation and necessary assistance will be provided to the affected family.
