Dhanbad, April 3: A neighbouring youth of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) employee allegedly strangulated her 11-year-old son for Rs 90,000 in the Alkusha area under Kenduadih police station, around 10 km away from the district headquarters.
The deceased boy, identified as Prince Kumar, son of Guddi Devi, had been missing since Wednesday afternoon. Police recovered the body packed in a plastic sack in a bush near her house. Prince Kumar’s hands and legs were tied.
Two arrested
Kendudih police station officer-in-charge RN Thakur said that Guddi Devi’s neighbour Rohit Kumar Gupta and his friend Krishna Kumar Gupta had been arrested, and both confessed to having murdered the boy.

Prince Kumar was missing from around 3 pm on Wednesday. Family members duly informed police in the afternoon. Rohit, who is familiar with the Guddi Devi family, hid Prince Kumar in his washroom and dumped the body.
Rohit had taken Rs 90 000 from Guddi Devi’s daughter
Though a police official said both the accused are being interrogated for the reason behind the heinous murder, family members said that Rohit Kumar Gupta had taken Rs 90 000 from the daughter of Guddi Devi to invest in a private financial company three years ago.
For some time, Guddi’s family members had been mounting pressure on Rohit to get the money returned.
Guddi working on general labour post
Guddi Devi is working on a general labour post in the Gopalichuk Colliery of BCCL. Her husband died three years ago. Six months ago she got the job on compensation.
She is a resident of Kansaria village under Bharauli police station of Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh.
