Dhanbad, Oct 15: Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) in Dhanbad conducted an orientation programme for newly admitted MBBS students from the 2024 batch, providing insights into the institution, the MBBS curriculum, and faculty members. Anti-ragging measures
The Anti-Ragging Committee Chairman, Dr. Sunil Verma, was a focal point of attention for parents and guardians. He assured them that there is no history of ragging on the SNMMCH campus.
Dr Verma elaborated on the arrangements made this year to combat this issue. He provided information about the committee, including telephone numbers of its members for immediate complaint registration and other mechanisms in place to ensure that newly admitted students can live on campus without fear.
Engaging parents and families
The programme, for the first time, allowed parents and family members to attend the orientation for first-year MBBS students. It included a question-and-answer session that enabled students and their parents to address their concerns and receive pertinent information.
A father of one student expressed his satisfaction with the arrangements, stating, “Yes, I am returning home with sheer satisfaction that my son would be safe here in all points of view as I inspected the hostel facility and quality of mess food by taking lunch.”
Dr Neelam Agrawal (Biochemistry) conducted the programme, while Dr Vinit Tigga (HoD FMT) coordinated the arrangements alongside the 2022 MBBS batch students.
