Jamshedpur, April 12: The East Singhbhum district is observing Poshan Pakhwada (Nutrition Fortnight) to spread awareness about proper nutrition and healthy living.

In line with this, a Nutrition Awareness Rath (mobile awareness van) was flagged off from the District Collectorate premises by Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Aniket Sachan and Sub-Divisional Officer of Dhalbhum, Shatabdi Majumdar.
On the occasion, all present also took a pledge related to Poshan Pakhwada, committing themselves to spreading awareness about nutrition and ending malnutrition.

Mobile Awareness Van to Reach Remote Areas
The DDC reviewed the activities being undertaken during the fortnight with the District Social Welfare Officer and inquired about the schedule of the awareness rath.

The mobile van will travel to remote areas of various blocks to educate the rural population about the objectives of Poshan Pakhwada 2025.
These include focusing on the first 1000 golden days of a child’s life, promoting the beneficiary module in the Poshan Tracker app, managing malnutrition at the community level through summer initiatives, and encouraging healthy lifestyles to prevent childhood obesity.
The awareness campaign also emphasizes the inclusion of green leafy vegetables, milk, fruits, and eggs in daily diets to ensure proper nutrition.

Pledge for Nutrition Awareness
As part of the event, the DDC led everyone in taking a pledge to make India’s children, adolescents, and women free from malnutrition, healthy, and strong.
The pledge emphasized spreading the message of proper nutrition, clean water, and healthy practices to every household during national nutrition fortnight.
It also included commitments to prevent child marriage and to ensure every child is safe, educated, and nourished.
