Daltonganj, Sept 25: Preparations are afoot for the third National Lok Adalat due on September 28.
Addressing a press conference today, Principal District and Sessions Judge Niraj Kumar Srivastav appealed to the common people to take advantage of the National Lok Adalat.
Efforts to increase case disposal
The civil court in Daltonganj, Palamu, is upgrading its statistics of pre-litigation cases and pending cases with every passing National Lok Adalat.
Secretary of the Palamu district legal services authority Arpit Shrivastava told this correspondent today, “The second National Lok Adalat saw the disposal of 37,178 cases comprising 33,861 pre-litigation cases and 3362 pending cases.
However, for this September 28 National Lok Adalat the effort is to jump by around 2,000 more cases in comparison to the tally of the second National Lok Adalat here.

In this September 28 National Lok Adalat, the target is to dispose of 34,000 pre-litigation cases and 3,500 pending cases.
It’s the number of pre-litigation cases that enrich the tally of any National Lok Adalat.
Court sources said the acceptability of the National Lok Adalat is increasing as more and more people are getting inclined to take advantage of it.
Training opportunity for para legal volunteers
There is an added advantage of this National Lok Adalat to the fresher para legal volunteers here in the civil court in Daltonganj, Palamu.
155 para legal volunteers selected are having their training beginning today.
Secretary Arpit Shrivastava said, “Under the directive of the principal district and sessions judge these fresher para legal volunteers will have a first-hand experience and exposure to this National Lok Adalat also. This exposure will mean too much for them.”
