Renovated Traffic Police Post Inaugurated
IG of Police, Palamu zone, Shailendra Kumar Sinha, along with the SP Reeshma Ramesan, on Friday dedicated a renovated traffic police post at Bairya chowk to the public, which has the Government of India’s vital installations like Akashvani and Doordarshan some far away besides hotels and a degree college too by the side of the highway.
“It’s a great thing that the SP Reeshma Ramesan and her team have done. My kudos to the SP and her team,” said the IG Sinha.
IG reached the venue right on the dot 11 am only to find the SP there in advance with the SDPO Sadar Mani Bhushan Prasad and DySP on probation Rajiv Ranjan, officer in charge town police station Jyoti Lal Rajwar and others.
Even mediapersons had thought IG would be coming late for winter, but Sinha took everyone by surprise when his pilot car heralded his arrival at the traffic police post at sharp 11 am.

Ceremonial Inauguration and Rituals
The renovated traffic police post was inaugurated in full religious rituals, albeit brief, but when it came to coconut busting, the IG showed his skill to the precision.
DySP on probation Rajiv Ranjan followed the suit by sitting on his knees for the coconut ceremony.
It was the priest who on two occasions had to rearrange the mantras later repeated by the IG.
Expansion of Traffic Infrastructure
About traffic police stations in Palamu, SP said, “We have sent a proposal for 3 traffic police stations, Sadar, Chhaterpur and Hussainabad. Some queries have come in regarding Chhaterpur and Hussainabad.”
“We have apprised the government of the expediency of setting up traffic police stations in Palamu in the wake of the coming up of four lane and widening of the roads with a high incidence of road accidents resulting in fatalities,” said the SP
There are 5 black spots and 3 vulnerable spots prone to road mishap here in Palamu district, SP added.

Inauguration of Police Guest House
There police officer’s guest house was inaugurated by the IG Sinha, who rushed after the inauguration of the renovated traffic police post at Bairya chowk.
This guest house has come up right at the police line entrance. It’s a piece of elegant economy.
IG and the SP, with a small battery of senior police officers spent nearly 40 to 50 minutes in the well-furnished guest house just to have a feel of the homeliness of this guest house.
“This guest house will be for senior police officers coming over here either for probation or for appearance in the Court for testimony or deposition. This guest house will be a suitable accommodation for such officers,” added the SP.
This guest house has a kitchenette, but food is to come for a price for the officers who will check in here.
SP Reeshma Ramesan was for free food here when, right on the spur of the moment, IG Sinha came up with his suggestion saying, “I understand there is a price for food to be served here. Let the price be a notional one, but no food to come here any free.”
Lapping up this suggestion, SP Reeshma Ramesan too gave her spontaneous nod to the suggestion of the IG saying, “A team of police officers will sit together and decide the price of food that will be served here.”

Police sources said the IG Sinha takes his team along with him without any hiatus between senior and junior as he stopped for a moment to enter the car just to remind a lady police officer standing close to his car that “It will be you who will be looking after the maintenance of this police guest house.”
This lady police officer, who appears to be in her family way, just assured the IG of complying with his order for the maintenance of the police officer’s guest house. IG looked contented with the reply of this police officer.
