Daltonganj, March 24: The police officials have taken more action following the review of the poll preparations by the state Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar and the nodal officer of the security set up IG A V Homkar on Saturday here in Daltonganj.
SP Reeshma Ramesan surprisedly inspected two interstate check posts between 1 and 1.30 am on the night of March 23/24.
Interstate check posts
The interstate check posts were at Dangwar and Deori and fitted with web cameras.
Reeshma Ramesan said, “Duty at the check posts is on the roster. At Dangwar, there was a record of the passage of the vehicles with their numbers only, but no mention of the type of the vehicles, like two-wheeler, four-wheeler, or larger-number wheel vehicles. I have directed my police officials to have a full entry for the vehicles in the register.”

She said, “I left Daltonganj pre-midnight around 11.30 or 11.40. I saw Nawa Bazar police doing an anti-crime check, although we have no check post within the limits of this police station.”
When asked if she saw the ‘road or NH’ empty of men and vehicles at such odd night hours, she said, “It’s Holi time. Our mazdoors are coming home from outside. I saw some auto rickshaws plying there loaded with mazdoors who had alighted from the trains at the Japla railway station.”
