Dhanbad, May 23: The East Central Railway Karmchari Union (ECRKU) has urged the Railway Ministry to extend the ‘Split Pass’ facility to zonal and divisional employees, similar to the benefits enjoyed by staff at the Railway Board.

During a meeting held in Dhanbad on Friday, ECRKU Additional General Secretary and PNM in-charge Md. Ziauddin highlighted several pressing issues faced by railway employees, calling for urgent action to improve their working conditions and overall service quality.

“A Split Pass allows employees to use their travel pass for journeys between stations that are not necessarily on their designated pass route. This facility, currently available only to Railway Board employees, should be extended to divisional and zonal staff as well,” said Ziauddin.
Multiple Demands Raised for Employee Welfare
The union also raised several other demands, including the use of UMID cards for direct treatment in referral hospitals without mandatory referrals from railway hospitals.
They also called for time-bound promotions across departments, provision of hard duty allowances for employees engaged in high-risk tasks, and income tax relief on the allowances of running staff such as train managers and loco pilots.
