THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK
Ranchi, June 20: Several Circle Officers (CO) in the Ranchi district have been sluggish in resolving mutation cases. Expressing his displeasure over this sluggishness, District Commissioner Rahul Sinha has issued show-cause notices to six Circle Officers. A letter has been issued in this regard.

The letter from the DC mentions that during the review, it was found that many mutation cases are pending in the circles. Clear instructions have been given for compliance with the Jharkhand State Guarantee of Services Act, 2011. Despite this, the failure to resolve mutation cases in a timely manner reflects lethargy and negligence.

The DC has asked for an explanation, questioning why a penalty should not be imposed under the relevant section of the Act for the delay, as per the provisions of the Jharkhand State Guarantee of Services Act, 2011. The Circle Officers who have been show-caused have been instructed to submit their responses promptly.

In fact, 41 cases are pending in the City zone, 37 in the Kanke zone, 25 in the Ratu zone, 20 in the Hehal zone, 17 in the Bundu zone and 33 in the Argora zone for 30 days or more. In view of this, the Deputy Commissioner has issued a show cause to the Circle Officers of Ranchi, Kanke, Ratu, Hehal, Bundu and Argora zones.
