Jharkhand News: Ranchi’s notorious cyber fraud arrested at Dhanbad Rly station

Ranchi, August 1: Government Railway Police (GRP) today arrested the notorious cyber fraud of Ranchi identified as Md Samir Ansari at the Dhanbad Rail station before he fled to Kolkata.

Getting information from the Ranchi cyber cell, deputy superintendent of police Neha Bala, Dhanbad GRP, launched a combing operation at the railway station on Wednesday night and nabbed Samir Ansari while boarding in Kalka Mail for Howrah.

Cyber fraud planned to flee to Sri Lanka

A GRP official said Samir Ansari is a resident of the Islampur area under the Jharia police station. He is a notorious cyber-criminal and dozen cheating cases under BNS  Section 179/24, U/S 318 (4), 319( 2), 336 (3), 338, 340 (2), 61 and U/ S 66 (B), 66 (C), 66 (1) IT Act are lodged against him in Ranchi.

The arrested cybercriminal, during interrogation, said that he had planned to escape to Sri Lanka via Kolkata- Chennai.

The Dhanbad GRP handed over him to Ranchi police Inspector Manoj Kumar Roy.
