Dhanbad, April 6: Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar said that Rs 48 crores had been recovered during the vehicle checking campaign in the wake of the election in four districts, including Dhanbad, Bokaro, Giridih and Deoghar, so far.

K Ravi Kumar today, while talking with media persons at Dhanbad collectorate after reviewing  Lok Sabha poll preparation with electoral officers of four districts said that for conducting the election peacefully in Dhanbad, Bokaro, Giridih and Deoghar, the discussion was held on safety, crime control, selling of illegal liquor and contraband.

“Direction has been given to take action on criminals, people involved in selling illegal and contraband and conducting comprehensive checking of vehicles at the inter-district border for ensuring free and fearless voting of people”, said CEO K Ravi Kumar.

At the poll review meeting  Assistant  Chief Electoral Officer Sandip Singh, Additional Director General of Police (DGP)  Amol  Vinukant Homkar, CRPF Director General Rakesh Agrawal, Dhananjay Kumar Singh, CRPF Inspector General Satish Kumar Linda, Deputy Commandant Dipak Kumar, IG Bokaro, IG Dumka, Commissioner North Chhotnagpur, Suman Kethrine  Kispota, DIG Bokaro Surendra Kumar Jha, Dhanbad deputy commissioner (DC) Madhvi  Mishra,  senior superintendent of police HP Janardhan, Bokaro DC Vijaya Jadhav, SP Pujya Prakash, Giridh DC Nayan Priyesh Lakra, SP Amit Renu, Deoghar DC Vishal Sagar, SP Rakesh Ranjan were present.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that since the election will be held amidst the hot summer, all concerned officers of all four districts have also been directed to ensure facilities for voters, polling party personnel and others.

“Besides, electoral officers of all four districts have also given other directives. After 15 days, we will review the progress and whether directives have been implemented or not. DGP and the additional DGP will help in conducting peaceful voting”, said the CEO  of Jharkhand, K Ravi Kumar.
