Jamshedpur, April 6:
A spell of turbulent weather is set to impact Jharkhand, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing an Orange Alert for nine districts, including Ranchi and Khunti.

The weather conditions are expected to intensify on April 7 and 8, with hailstorms likely over central, southeastern, and eastern regions. Wind speeds may increase to 50–60 kmph during this period.

Thunderstorm and lightning activity is likely to continue till April 9, especially over eastern and nearby central areas, before conditions begin to improve from April 10 onward.

Reasons Behind Weather Change

Meteorologists say the current weather instability is due to a western disturbance over central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab in the mid to upper atmospheric levels.

Additionally, a trough extending from Gangetic West Bengal to Telangana across Chhattisgarh at lower levels is bringing more moisture and increasing atmospheric instability over Jharkhand.

Advisory for Residents

Residents have been advised to stay alert, avoid open areas during lightning, and take necessary precautions, as sudden weather changes may lead to local disruptions, including hail damage and strong winds.
