Jharkhand News: Several trains cancelled from Dec to Feb due to fog, infrastructure work

 

Jamshedpur, Dec 2: Train services in the Chakradharpur and Ranchi divisions of South Eastern Railway (SER) will face major disruptions from December 2025 to February/March 2026 due to dense fog and large-scale infrastructure and safety-related works.

Prioritising passenger safety, the railways has cancelled several long-distance express trains for up to three months, while some routes have been diverted.

The move is expected to cause significant inconvenience, particularly to passengers travelling between Tatanagar–Amritsar and Santragachi–Anand Vihar.

Key Train Cancellations Due to Fog (Dec 2025 – Feb/Mar 2026)

Several major trains have been cancelled because of poor visibility during winter. These include:

12873 Hatia–Anand Vihar Terminal (1 Dec–26 Feb)

12874 Anand Vihar–Hatia (2 Dec–27 Feb)

22857 Santragachi–Anand Vihar (1 Dec–2 Mar)

22858 Anand Vihar–Santragachi (2 Dec–3 Mar)

18103 Tatanagar–Amritsar (1 Dec–25 Feb)

18104 Amritsar–Tatanagar (3 Dec–27 Feb)

In addition, Hatia–Tatanagar Express, Hatia–Sanki Passenger, Ranchi–Bokaro Passenger, Kharagpur–Ranchi Express, Dhanbad–Ranchi Express, and Tatanagar–Hatia MEMU are among the 11 pairs of trains suspended on select dates.

Ranchi–Chopan, Chopan–Ranchi, Ranchi–Bhagalpur, and Dumka–Ranchi Express will also remain cancelled on specific days.

Four train pairs cancelled from December 20 to January 20 for development work

Passengers will face further inconvenience due to ongoing development work in the Chakradharpur division.

During this period, the following trains will be cancelled on different dates:

18109/18110 Tatanagar–Itwari Express

18175/18176 Hatia–Jharsuguda Express

68043/68044 Tatanagar–Rourkela MEMU

58659/58660 Hatia–Rourkela Passenger

The Railways has urged passengers to check updated train schedules before travelling and prepare alternative plans when necessary to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
