Dhanbad, July 9: A factional feud in the BJP Dhanbad district unit became public here on Tuesday when supporters of two senior leaders clashed in the presence of State party president Babulal Marandi and other top leaders during a felicitation ceremony at New Town Hall.
The party had organized a felicitation ceremony for Dhanbad Sadar assembly party Mandal presidents and booth level workers over the success of candidates in Lok Sabha elections.
As the felicitation ceremony began, alleged supporters of Dhulu Mahto (MP) started a protest alleging that supporters of MLA Raj Sinha did not work in the election and devoted workers were ignored in felicitation.

Raj Sinha supporters also countered the protest and the situation became chaotic in the hall. Babulal Marandi, Dhulu Mahto, former MP PN Singh, former president Sadar MLA Raj Sinha, Dhanbad Lok Sabha in-charge Satyendra Kumar Singh, former district president Chandrashekhar Singh, former mayor Chandrashekhar Agrawal, vice-president Sanjay Jha, Manas Prasun all continued appealing to workers to calm down but of no avail.
After around 20 minutes of commotion in the meeting, supporters of Raj Sinha went out from the hall after which the program could start.
Relations between Dhulu Mahto and Raj Sinha became sour during the Lok Sabha election when party candidate Dhulu Mahto alleged that MP, MLA (PN Singh, Raj Sinha) were not supporting him. From that time supporters of both the MLAs are on a collision course.
