Jharkhand News: Tata Power partners with National Dairy Development Board to solarize milk value chain

Jamshedpur, July 25: TP Renewable Microgrid (TPRMG), India’s leading solar microgrid company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), renowned for its transformative impact on India’s rural economy through its cooperative dairy model.

This collaboration aims to facilitate various initiatives to advance renewable energy technologies within the dairy value chain.

The MoU was signed by Meenesh Shah, Chairman & Managing Director of NDDB, and Manoj Gupta, CEO, TP Renewable Microgrid, in presence of Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power and  Varsha Joshi, Additional Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Govt. of India.

Enhancement of sustainability, efficiency of milk value chain

Central to this collaboration are several key initiatives designed to enhance sustainability and operational efficiency within the milk value chain.

This includes the solarization of Dairy Cooperative Societies (DCSs), Bulk Milk Coolers (BMCs), and Milk Chilling Centers, facilitated by cutting-edge solar microgrid technology.

Meenesh Shah, Chairman & MD, NDDB, remarked, “This collaboration is a significant step towards achieving our vision of a sustainable and efficient milk value chain. By integrating renewable energy solutions, we aim to boost the operational efficiency across dairy value chain and promote the use of green fuels. Our partnership with TPRMG will help us in realizing our goal of creating a greener and more sustainable dairy sector.”

Gujarat’s Mujkuva village to be transformed into Carbon Neutral Village

A key highlight of this partnership is the ambitious plan to transform Mujkuva village in Anand district, Gujarat, into a Carbon Neutral Village through the collaborative efforts of NDDB and TP Renewable Microgrid.

This endeavour targets to promote sustainability in rural economies and foster a greener future for the dairy industry.

Green energy solutions and sustainability
