Three assailants wanted in Jamshedpur murder case arrested

Jamshedpur, Oct 28: Police on Monday arrested three persons for allegedly being involved in the murder of Vikash Gupta alias Kana that took place under Ulidih thana area in Mango on September 20.

Those arrested have been identified as Umesh Das, Dhiraj Thakur and Sukku Karmakar.

Besides arresting the three assailants, the police have seized a pistol and also a motorcycle which had been used in the murder.

Revealing about the breakthrough, senior SP Kishore Kaushal said that Umesh Das had developed enmity with Vikash Gupta over something a few months ago, leading the former to avenge by eliminating the latter.

Special team nabs the accused

“In sequel to the enmity, Umesh Das had conspired with four others to kill Vikash. Eventually, Umesh and his associates had launched a gun-shot attack on Dimna Road under Ulidih thana area on September 20, causing him to die on the spot, ” said the senior SP while briefing the newsmen today.

Kaushal said in view of the gravity of the crime he had set up a special team to unravel the mystery behind the murder.

“Late last night, the special team got a tip-off that some of the assailants wanted in the Vikash Gupta murder case were staying put at a hotel, Hotel Haveli, in Galudih near Ghatsila. Getting the information, the police team immediately raided the hotel and succeeded in nabbing three of the culprits, including the main accused Umesh Das,” narrated the senior SP.

The senior police officer stated that two other accused are still absconding, adding that an attempt to arrest them is on.
