Jharkhand News: Three die in road mishap in West Singhbhum

Jamshedpur, May 14: A road mishap claimed three lives in the neighbouring West Singhbhum today.

The tragedy unfolded near Baihatu village on the Chaibasa-Chakradharpur highway in West Singhbhum.

A mini goods carrier collided head-on with a truck, resulting in the deaths of three passengers—35-year-old Seenu Purti, 36-year-old Ganga Jarika, and 30-year-old Shivram Hembram—who were killed instantly.

Another passenger, 35-year-old Jagdish Hembram, sustained serious injuries and was referred to Tata Main Hospital for advanced treatment.

The impact left the Tata Magic vehicle severely mangled. Locals, along with the police, scrambled to pull out the victims and rushed them to the hospital.

Chaibasa Mufassil police station in-charge Chandrashekhar Kumar confirmed that three victims were declared dead on arrival. Postmortems are underway.

Police started an investigation, urging motorists to exercise greater caution on the roads.
