Palamu, August 26: Police announced on Monday that three members of the banned Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), a splinter faction of the outlawed CPI (Maoist), have been apprehended in the Palamu district of Jharkhand.

Those arrested were identified as Vijay Paswan (31), Ashok Kumar Yadav (34), and Akhilesh Kumar (38).

From their possession, authorities seized a rifle, a pistol, six cartridges, three mobile phones, and a motorcycle.

Palamu Superintendent of Police Reeshma Ramesan informed reporters that the three rebels were arrested on Sunday evening near Chetma village in the Sarbarwa police station area. They were apprehended while en route to collect extortion money in Tumbagarha.
