Daltonganj, April 3: A team of three police stations namely Nawa Bazar, Chhaterpur and Naudeeha Bazar led by the Additional SP Ops Rakesh Singh in an ambush nabbed a 53-year-old man identified as Jeeb Lal Yadav alias Subhash Yadav alias Ramesh Yadav who turned out to be an active ultra of the banned splinter group of Naxals, Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC). This ultra hails from the Gaya district in Bihar.

This ultra who doesn’t carry any reward on his head in Jharkhand, has one lakh reward on his head in Bihar, said the Additional SP Ops Rakesh Singh.

Intercepted During Ambush, Evidence Recovered

Rakesh Singh held a press briefing today in absence of the SP Reeshma Ramesan who is convalescing of viral fever asking the ASP Ops to do the job of press briefing.

The ASP Ops said, “Our police had no picture of this ultra but since we had laid an ambush and when our boys saw a man coming like any other soul carrying a jhoula the police team making no mistake intercepted him and he just cracked down when interrogated fiercely.”

This ultra had with him neither any arms, ammunition nor cash. He had of course with him two cell phones, one handwritten parcha of the TSPC and a pocket diary worth all scrutiny of the police as the pocket diary contains names of the persons who have coughed up levies etc to the TSPC.

TSPC’s Extortion Network and Movement

Rakesh Singh further informed this ultra was in the contingent of Shashikant and was transversing alone so as not to be doubted or detected all for the purpose of reaching some brick kilns for money.

Shashikant and his men including this Yadav were reported to be in the vicinity of the Turidaag Pahar under the Nawa Bazar police station limits.

The officer in charge of the Nawa Bazar police station Sanjay Kumar Yadav and his team were after Shashikant quite painstakingly who were joined by Naudeeha of police station OC Amit Kumar Dwivedi and OC Chhaterpur Prashant Prasad.

On being asked he was found in his possession with just one handwritten leaflet of the TSPC when it should have been in a bunch to which ASP Ops said, “There are brick kiln owners who bend too forward to the Naxals easily. Some buy time. It’s for such a brick kiln owner who buys time that he just has a single handwritten leaflet to be left at the brick kiln to spread fear and terror.”

The ultra has five cases against him, three in Bihar and two in Jharkhand. Again he has firearms shot in his right leg which he had sustained way back in 2021 in Manatu.
