Jamshedpur, April 6: Police on Saturday arrested two youths for allegedly bludgeoning a youth to death at Rahmat Nagar under the Kapali thana outpost which falls under the Chandil thana area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Thursday.
Identified as Nabab Arju alias Mannu and Mohammed Ajnain Ansari alias Jahid had killed the victim Dil Nawaz following a brawl between themselves during boozing at Sahid Bagan in Rahmat Nagar on Thursday afternoon.
Dil Nawaz’s mutilated body was found lying on a ‘chatai’ at the Sahid Bagan, leading the family members of the murder victim to lodge an FIR against unknown.

The duo set victim’s phone on fire to destroy evidence
Speaking about the breakthrough, Chandil SDPO, Sunil Kumar Rajbar said that all three were consuming liquor at the Sahid Bagan in the afternoon when an altercation broke out between Dil Nawaz and the two accused over something.
“Then suddenly Mannu and Jahid started assaulting Dil Nawaz, leading one of the duo to pick up a boulder and hit in the head of the victim. Due to repeated hitting with the boulder, Dil Nawaz died on the spot. Soon after the youth was killed, the two laid his body on a ‘chatai’ and fled the scene, ” said the SDPO while addressing a press conference at the Chandil police office today.
The senior police officer said after killing Dil Nawaz, the assailants had taken away the victim’s mobile phone and tried to destroy it by setting it on fire.
The police officer said while arresting Mannu and Jahid, the police have seized a motorcycle and two mobile phones from their possession. He pointed out the police have also recovered the semi-burnt mobile phone which the accused had thrown away near the murder scene.
