Jamshedpur, Nov 21: Two criminals were arrested for allegedly trying to create terror among the businessmen circle by launching targeted firing.

Those arrested were identified as J Rahul and Rahul Kumar Singh, both residents of the Burmamines locality of the steel city.

Revealing about the breakthrough, SP (City) Kumar Shibashis said the duo were members of the Nayan Singh gang recently set up by Sonu Singh and Prakash Mishra, both convicted in separate murder cases.

According to the City SP, those arrested had fired at the Sharma Furniture showroom in Golmuri on October 3 and earlier on September 9, they had fired at a coaching centre in Golmuri.

“We had received complaints of firing from the owners of the furniture store as well as the coaching centre and started an investigation. Finally, we succeeded to nab two who were indulged in firing, ” said the senior police officer while briefing the newsmen on Thursday evening.

According to the police officer, the arrested criminals confessed their involvement in the firing which they committed at the instance of Sonu Singh and Prakash Mishra.

“Actually, the gang leader is Sonu Singh who with the help of his associate Prakash Mishra would send WhatsApp messages to the businessmen, demanding money. If they were not obliged, they would set the shooters to open fire at the victims’ business establishments, ” said the City SP while talking about the modus operandi of the newly-formed Nayan Singh gang.

The two arrested persons were sent to jail after their production before a judicial magistrate in the evening.
