Jamshedpur, Oct 22: A tragic accident took place at Chaibasa in West Singhbhum today when an e-rickshaw carrying several passengers overturned, resulting in the death of a 14-year-old girl.

In a separate but equally distressing incident, another young girl reportedly lost her life due to suffocation.

Seven other passengers sustained injuries in the mishap.

According to local sources, the overcrowded e-rickshaw was en route to a nearby market when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The sudden overturn caused panic among the passengers, many of whom were children.

Locals immediately rushed to the spot and helped rescue the victims before alerting the police.

The injured were taken to the Sadar Hospital in Chaibasa for medical treatment, where their condition is reported to be stable.

The bodies of the two deceased minors have been sent for post-mortem examination.

Police officials have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident, and preliminary findings suggest that overloading and loss of balance could have led to the tragedy.
