Ranchi, Oct 10: Usha Martin University celebrated Khadi Mahotsav on Friday. The event aimed to spread the message of self-reliance, sustainability, and pride in Indian culture under the theme — “Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Ghar Swadeshi.”

The celebration began with lamp lighting ceremony by Prof. Milind PVC, Registrar, Dena Academic, DSW.

Khadi is not just a cloth, but a movement that represents India’s freedom, simplicity, and sustainability.

Prof. B.N. Sinha, Dean Academics, encouraged students to adopt the Khadi philosophy in modern education and lifestyle, supporting rural artisans and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Shiv Pratap Verma spoke about the environmental importance of Khadi and its role in promoting an eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle.
Dr. Jayantika Pal, Dean Student Welfare (DSW), coordinated a Khadi exhibition and stalls, where students displayed and promoted Khadi garments and various Swadeshi products made by local artisans. The stalls attracted many visitors and were highly appreciated.

The event concluded with cultural performances and a pledge by students and faculty members to promote Indian-made goods and support the “Vocal for Local” movement.
As part of the celebration, a Khadi Awareness Rally was also organized by students and faculty. The rally spread the message of “Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Ghar Swadeshi” across the campus, inspiring everyone to adopt Swadeshi products and promote local craftsmanship with pride.
