Some passersby who had watched the youth while jumping into the river had first taken a sneaky look at the youth going into the water body by going over to the bridge’s railing and then informed about the incident to the staff of the toll bridge.

Soon the news spread across the adjoining localities leading it to finally reach the Adityapur police under whose jurisdiction the toll bridge falls.

“We have found the abandoned bike and recovered it, but there was no eyewitness as such to give an account of the incident. The youth might have jumped from the bridge but we cannot start a search operation without getting a formal complaint,” said the OC.

Singh stated that they are trying to reach the family members of the youth in question by getting the bike’s registration number verified.

The OC pointed out the vehicle’s registration number is a strong clue to find out the youth’s identity adding that once they establish his identity and know the background, they will act accordingly.
