Dhanbad, Nov 25: Perfume packets were found in the Dhanbad jail during a sudden search operation conducted by the district administration under Deputy Commissioner (DC) Barun Ranjan today in the early morning for security purposes.
Searches in male and female wards
The DC along with the Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Satya Prakash Singh, Additional District Magistrate (ADM law and order) Kamal Kant Gupta, SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate) Uday Rajak along with heavy police reached the jail and conducted massive searches in male and female wards.

No findings of objectionable items
SDM Uday Rajak told media persons that a sudden inspection was conducted in the jail at the directive of the state government. In the two-hour thirty minutes search operation any objectionable item was not found.
The official said four packets of perfume, 10 tobacco packets, one sharp spoon, lighters, empty cigarette packets and other small materials were found scattered.
Presence of notorious criminals prompts searches
Since under trial hardcore criminals and Naxal activists have been lodged in the Dhanbad Jail, the district administration conducts searches from time to time.
